Are you a red-wine lover? David & Maria's latest selections from boutique and family owned vinyards may become a new favorite in your collection.

Every month we are bringing in new wines to sample, savor, and share with you. Some wines will become house wines, or daily by-the-glass offerings. Some will be by-the-bottle only. Some will be shared at special tastings. If you enjoy trying new wines, we love to share!

Join us for a happy hour on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, (or any hour that suits you), and try one of our rich summer reds listed below!

Ancient Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon

Like a West Coast wine? This special red comes from Ancient Peaks and evokes thoughts of crisp mountain air, cozy nights around a family fire, and a sense of well-being.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with expressive aromas of plum, boysenberry, red currant, caramel and toasted oak. Broad, chewy textures deliver layered impressions of blueberry, cherry, cassis and violet with undercurrents of graphite, sage, eucalyptus and vanilla bean. Fresh acidity and fine tannins carry into a long, expansive finish. A wonderfully integrated and complex Cabernet Sauvignon.

FOOD PAIRING:

The rich yet lively character of the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon makes a great match for lamb chops, portobello mushrooms, aged cheddar cheese and filet mignon with black olive sauce.

The Santa Julia Malbec EL Burro Natural

If you can appreciate an all-natural wine, left to it’s own proclivities, you will enjoy this unique Malbec.

Grown in the fertile vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina, under the watchful eye of the Andes Mountains, the grapes for the EL Burro Natural are cultivated using organic methods, ensuring a wine that is both expressive of its terroir and mindful of the planet. This approach results in a Malbec that is not only a reflection of the region's rich winemaking heritage but also an embodiment of forward-thinking practices that honor the earth.

FOOD PAIRING:

This Malbec is approachable and easy-drinking, making it a versatile companion to a wide array of culinary delights. It pairs exceptionally well with grilled vegetables, lean meats, and dishes that feature robust herbs and spices.

Novelty Hill Merlot: Columbia Valley Washington State

A modern and architecturally acclaimed joint-vinyard is the birthplace of tasty Merlot.

Novelty Hill | Januik is a forward-thinking establishment that is thoughtful in their design from planting, to process, taste.

The Novelty Hill Merlot is smooth and refined, a gentleman’s wine with enticing scents of red cherry, blackberry, and cedar.

On the palate, the wine offers a velvety texture and structured mouthfeel that unfolds to reveal luscious layers of ripe plum, dark chocolate, and a hint of mint. Balanced acidity intertwines seamlessly with refined tannins. The finish is long and flavorful.

FOOD PAIRING:

This merlot is an all-evening drink from while you’re cooking, to cheese and appetizers to steak dinner, and afterward with a chocolate dessert.
